In the moment

Sometimes life has a way of making you stay in the moment, whether you want to or not.  My drive from Calgary to Hope, BC was often that way.  I left the city in rain, drove through a blizzard near Banff, more rain for awhile, sun near Salmon Arm, and then more snow on both passes of the Coquihalla.  In bad weather conditions, you pay attention or crash.  It's good practice for paying attention to the other aspects of life, and a good analogy also.  Pay attention to yourself or have another depression crash.

  1. That's true. It's also a way of showing us how many different, wonderful, things there are out there. And that things can change suddenly, most often for the better.

  2. You know, Danielle, you must always, always, always pay close attention to yourself. No one else is going to watch as closely. I think you recognize that little gem of a truth. Yes, the road is a good metaphor for life, generally. Keep your eyes forward, watch your speed, look out for signs and wildlife, ease into your turns, and above all else, enjoy every little thing that comes your way. Though you may pass this way again, both you and the world will never be the same. Take good care of yourself for no other reason than because you have to.
